What was once known as the “Base Hospital” at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, has morphed into the beautiful and modern Horry Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand Campus.

The Horry Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand Campus (HGTC) enrolls over 2000 students each fall and spring semester in a wide variety of curriculum programs. This campus covers nearly 78 acres and has five buildings, including the 50,000-square-foot Dr. Robert E. Speir, Jr. Healthcare Education Center and the 24,000-square-foot Charles F. Freeman Community Dental Clinic. For those interested a career in one the the health-science programs, many of HGTC’s health related courses are taught here.

Employers are always looking for skilled technically trained employees. To help meet these needs, Horry Georgetown Technical College has developed outstanding technical programs in hot career fields such as Advanced Welding, Nursing, Machine Tool Technology, Sports Tourism and more than 80 other degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

The Grand Strand campus is the headquarters for the College’s Continuing Education and Workforce Development division. The Grand Strand campus features the Beach Bistro 354 dining facility, which is open to the public, and it provides spa services to the public through the Massage Therapy and Esthetics clinic.

The Horry Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand Campus is located in The Market Common District of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one of the nation’s leading tourist and resort destinations. The Grand Strand campus is HGTC’s second-largest campus and has the fastest growth in facilities and student enrollment.

International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach

The new International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach will allow us to grow from approximately 170 students to over 400.

The new state-of-the-art International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach education center, is located on the Grand Strand Campus in the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach.

The new International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach will provide bakery/patisserie laboratories, a nutrition lab, production and training kitchens, an outdoor barbeque kitchen, greenhouse, wine cellar, beverage bar, chef’s bar, chef’s table, and an amphitheater.
